An exquisitely beautiful and very rare illustrated 17th century folio Bible with a series of about 175 (!) Biblical illustrations ('histories') Engraved general title, followed by a second title; architectural design with cut of royal arms: "The Holy Bile in Sculpture or The History's mentioned i the Old and New Teftament lively reprefented in Copper Culls. London. Printed by Moses Pitt ... Oxford" Illustrated with full page (looks like quarto size) AMAZING, engravings, also including a set of portraits of the apostles. The Bible is also bound with an incomplete Book of Common Prayer (lacks before the morning prayers), the complete Apocrypha and the Whole Book of Psalms (date 1682, all metric psalms present, lacks the prayers)
The Bible itself is complete in every aspect with a total of 4 title pages!
This FOLIO sized Bible is in a WELL PRESERVED, VERY GOOD and (daily) usable condition. Complete Bible bound with BcP and Psalter (see remarks above). Later plain rebound, Clean roman letter text throughout, with clean pages and paper. No writings. Beautifully detailed illustrations . Typical smaller tears and edgewear. Especially in the beginning (BcP) and end of the book (Psalter). Occasional damages/wear/tears around the blank margins of the engravings.
