This is one of the LAST editions of the famous Geneva Bibles ever printed!
A folio illustrated Geneva printed in 1640 in the Netherlands by the Pilgrims/protestants fled from prosecution in England before moving to the US. The Bible is in overall very nicely preserved condition and has retained its (likely) original leather covers.  Many illustrations and engravings included, also the engraved title page.
Including the engraved general title to the Bible ("The Bible, That is, the Holy Scriptvres contained in the Old and New Testament ... Amsterdam Printed by Thomas Stafford: and to be fold at his houfe, at the figne of the Flight of Brabant, upon the Milk-market, over againft the Deventer Wood-market <I>I>CXL [1640] According to he copy printed at Edinburgh by Andro Hart in the yeare 1610"). The Bible text is in large Roman letter font and in two columns with the footnotes/commentary in Roman font. Complete Tables/Concordances in the back. It is also printed with the rare 3 page 'Admonition to the Christian Reader' - explaining why the Apocrypha are not part of the Canon and not included in this Bible!
Various engravings ( illustrations and maps) throughout, including 2 full page illustrations related to the tabernacle and the priests. Beautifully decorated chapter initials (very large initials for the first chapter of every book).  Also with colophons. Many pictures included! Revelation with Fr Junius commentary. There is an almost complete Whole book of Psalms at the rear last numbered page is 114 followed by a prayers page that has no numbers on it might be missing just a page or two.
The Bible looks to have been re-backed probably somewhere in the 1800’s binding is solid though the last page regarding prayers is coming loose. Including preliminary pages ('to the Christian reader') and all titles. Binding is holding well and allows for the book to be read and used, but is old, so handle with care. Overall clean pages with nice margins. Title page and 'To the Christian Reader' relaid with some loss. Last page (of the Admonition) with some loss (see pics). Some occasional age-related discoloring. Various provenance notes (see pics)
A very rare and attractive Geneva FOLIO Illustrated Bible!
