The general title page (1595) engraved within woodcut border. Text in two column black letter. Title page to the second part before Psalms with woodcut border. Apocrypha included as issued. Complete set of woodcut illustrations and maps. New Testament title page (1595). Ends on colophon (1595) with tailpiece. Woodcut first chapter initials, colophons, and decorative head- and tailpieces throughout.

A^4, A-Z^6, Aa-Zz^6, Aaa-Zzz^6, Aaaa-Zzzz^6, Aaaaa-Mmmmm^4, Nnnnn^4. Complete with all titles.

Binding

Rebound in brown paneled calf. Covers with elaborate blind rules and rolls around a rectangular border. Spine with five raised bands and blind tooling to compartments featuring a red gilt-rolled label and the words “Holy Bible and “1595” lettered in gilt. Endpapers renewed.  

Condition

A1-3 of prelims trimmed to border and laid down; A1,2 of Genesis repaired to edges without loss; A3-6 repaired to fore-edge; Aaa4, Ooo5 with marginal loss; final two signatures with small burnholes to gutter; general title and final leaf soiled. A nicely rebound copy with good margins and a clean text overall.
