Description
General title page (1607) with woodcut border comprising twenty-four small compartments showing the tents of the twelve tribes as well as the figures of the twelve apostles. Text in two column black letter type. Bound without the Apocrypha, likely removed by a zealous Puritan. New Testament title page (n.d.). Concludes with the Two Concordances and dated colophon (1607). Bound with The Booke of Psalmes by Sternhold and Hopkins with printed title page. Woodcut first chapter initials and decorated head and tailpieces throughout.

Binding
Bound in half calf with marbled paper over boards. Spine with five raised bands and a gilt-lined morocco label with the words “Holy Bible” lettered in gilt. Endpapers renewed.
Condition
Occasional, mostly marginal staining; General title page frayed to edges and trimmed to top border; [par]2-3, Yy1-2 frayed; B8, Dd6, Lll1 lower corner torn with marginal loss; Dd3 short closed tear without loss; Kkk1,2 lower corner loss reducing sidenotes; Uuu6 loss to sidenotes; Ttt-Xxx frayed to edges; Xxx few short tears into margin; a good copy with wide margins.

Infrequent underlining and occasional marginal annotations (mostly in Genesis) in a neat contemporary italic hand.
