Engraved architectural title page (1680) featuring Cambridge’s alma mater. Text in two column Roman font with cross references in margins. With Apocrypha as issued. Six later copperplate engravings bound into the Bible text. Printed New Testament title page (1680). Bound with The Whole Book of Psalms with printed title page (1679). First chapter woodcut initials throughout.

A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa^4 (Old Testament), a-l^8 (Apocrypha), A-O^8,P^4 (New Testament). Complete with both title pages.
Binding
Eighteenth century black morocco. Boards paneled in gilt with lines and rolls around a gilt-stamped centerpiece. Spine with five raised bands and a red gilt-lined morocco label with the words “Holy Bible” and a date of 1680 lettered in gilt. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt.
Condition
Title page mounted with small stain to lower margin; A2 (Genesis 1) reinforced to fore-edge with repaired closed tear across text; occasional browning and staining as typical; cropped, occasionally reducing headlines.

A well-preserved example of a Cambridge King James Bible. The beautiful recent binding and the lovely gilt edges make this a perfect Bible to enjoy on a daily basis.
