Description
General title page (1602) with woodcut border comprising twenty-four small compartments showing the tents of the twelve tribes as well as the figures of the twelve apostles. Text in two column black letter type. Apocrypha included as issued. Similar New Testament title page (1602). Bound with the Two Concordances by RFH with a printed title page (1602) and dated colophon (1602). Woodcut first chapter initials and decorated head and tailpieces.

Binding
Rebound in brown morocco. Boards double paneled with blind rolls. Spine with four raised bands and elaborate blind tooling to compartments and a red gilt-lined morocco label with the words “Holy Bible” and “1602” in gilt. Marbled endpapers. All edges marbled.
Condition
General title repaired to upper edge; A6 lower margin repaired; New Testament title with loss to right border and laid down; final leaf or Revelation strengthened. A clean and bright copy.
Provenance
“Robert Rede 1822” to first leaf of Genesis; two leaves of nineteenth century family records of Rede family to rear endpapers.
