Description
The Book of Common Prayer begins with the calendar, printed in red and black. General title page (1607) with woodcut border comprising twenty-four small compartments showing the tents of the twelve tribes as well as the figures of the twelve apostles. The title page contains the misprint that reads by “Robert Bakker”. Text in two column black letter type. Apocrypha included as issued. Similar New Testament title page (1607). Concludes with the Two Concordances with a printed title page (1607) and dated colophon (1607). Bound with The Whole Booke of Psalmes by Sternhold and Hopkins with title page (1607). Woodcut first chapter initials and decorated head and tailpieces throughout.

Binding
Contemporary brown polished calf. Boards with metal cornerpieces, hasps, and evidence of clasps. Spine with five raised bands. Joints repaired. An early 16th century Latin legal text is used for pastedowns. Foot of spine chipped. Protected in a quarter-calf clamshell box.
Condition
Final leaf of BCP with loss; F1, Ii4 lower corner marginal repair; Hh4,5,Kk3 slightly trimmed; repaired closed tear to NT title page with a few scribbles; Psalter lacks final leaves of Prayers, as common. Clean and bright overall.
