Description
Begins with a single column Book of Common Prayer that lacks the title page. Calendar in red and black with ten-line woodcut initials, concludes with colophon (1615). Bound with an additional single column Psalter before the Bible text with title page (1615). General title page (1610) with a woodcut architectural border featuring a lion and a unicorn. Full page woodcut engraving of Adam and Eve in the Garden before Genesis. Text in two column black letter type. Complete set of woodcut illustrations and maps. Woodcut architectural title featuring Lady Justice and Mercy before Psalms. Includes Apocrypha as issued. New Testament title page (1610) with similar woodcut architectural border. Concludes with the Two Tables ending on dated colophon (1610). Bound with a second The Whole Book of Psalmes by Sternhold and Hopkins with elaborate woodcut title page (1614). Text in single column black letter, and lacks all after Psalm 150. Woodcut first chapter initials, head- and tailpieces throughout.

Binding
Later black morocco over beveled oak boards. Covers with gilt-decorated paneled boards around a blind-tooled centerpiece design. Spine with four raised bands and elaborate gold tooling to compartments and the words “Holy Bible” and “1610” lettered in gilt. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt.
Condition
A few early leaves of BCP stained and remargined with loss; A,B soiled with first leaf of Genesis repaired to lower edge with missing portion in facsimile; cropped touching or reducing sidenotes; Bb8 repaired with text loss; Uu7 remargined with loss to a few words of sidenotes; Zz3,4,4M3,4O5 two lines of text in facsimile; occasional browning and spotting; hinges reinforced and upper joint strengthened.
