Description
Begins with The Book of Common Prayer lacking the title page and calendar. Followed by the Genealogies with title page by J[ohn] S[peed], which includes the sought-after double-page map of Canaan. The general title page (1614) engraved within a woodcut border comprising twenty-four compartments showing the tents of the twelve tribes as well as the figures of the twelve apostles. Title is enclosed within a heart-shaped frame. Text in two column black letter type. Ruth 3:15 with “she went…” Apocrypha included as issued. New Testament title page (1615) with border like the general title. Concludes with colophon (1615) and tailpiece. Bound with Two Right Profitable and Fruitful Concordances with printed title page (1615) and colophon (1615). Bound with The Whole Booke of Psalmes with title page (1617), lacking all after Psalm 45. Various woodcut first chapter initials and head- and tailpieces.

A^8, A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa-Sss^8. Complete with all title pages.
Binding
Rebound in modern brown half calf with cloth over boards. Spine with five gilt-lined raised bands and one dark red, gilt-lined morocco label and the words “Geneva Bible” lettered in gilt. Endpapers renewed. All edges gilt.
Condition
General title page soiled with hole and mark at center; X7 torn at foot with loss to final line of outer column; Hh2 with repaired closed tear; Ooo5 torn to lower outer corner with slight text loss; occasional slight close trimming or fraying to marginal notes and few running titles; final leaf of Revelation torn along lower quarter with loss to tailpiece; title page of Psalter with fore-edge margin torn off; some staining and dust soiling throughout; hinges reinforced with cloth tape.

Endpapers with 19th-century manuscript genealogical entries relating to the Duckers family of Whitchurch, Shropshire; armorial bookplate of Michael Stoughton to rear pastedown; verso of Psalter title with inscription that reads “George Hope is a good boy and he his a brite boy and his mamys joy and he is a good lad, as for Sarah Hope shee is very bad geurle for shee gaines and cutes foule faces”; verso of Names and order of all the bookes with early juvenile drawings in ink and signatures of John Hope and Maria Crofop.

The general title omits the word “Holy” and both titles omit the word “Appointed.”
