Description
Title page (1616) with woodcut border. Genealogies by J[ohn] [S]peed with title page within border and headpiece. Double page Map of Canaan. Full-page engraving of Adam and Eve in the Garden. Text in two column Roman font. Apocrypha included as issued. New Testament title page (1616). Concludes with colophon. Bound with the Book of Common Prayer at the rear and with the Whole Booke of Psalms with printed title page.

a^4, b^6, A-Z^6, Aa-Zz^6, Aaa-Zzz^6. Aaaa-Tttt^6, Vvvv^8. Complete.
Binding
Later mottled calf with gilt rolled border. Spine with five recessed bands and gilt tooling to compartments with a red gilt-lined label and the words “Holy Bible” in gilt. Plain endpapers. All edges gilt. Rubbed and scuffed with corners bumped. Joints cracked but hinges intact and holding firm.
Condition
General title page cropped to lower border; final leaf of Genealogies and first page of map trimmed to upper and lower border without loss; burn hole to prelims and first leaf of text, repaired to Adam and Eve engraving and Genesis 1 with loss; E4 closed tear into text without loss; Cccc2,6 repaired closed tear into headline; infrequent staining; first four leaves of Book of Common Prayer repaired; Psalter at rear lacks final leaves of Prayers.
Note
The first small folio edition of the King James Bible and this copy well-preserved and complete. According to Scrivener this was the earliest edition to see any significant revision.
