Description
Begins with The Book of Common Prayer with the Communion. Bound with the illustrated Genealogies by J[ohn] S[peed] depicting the lineage from Adam to Christ. Concludes with the desirable double page Map of Canaan. The general title page engraved featuring Moses and Aaron, as well as the four Evangelists with their gospel symbols. The text is presented in two column Roman font with first chapter floriated woodcut initials throughout. Early annotations in a contemporary italic hand frequently found in the margins, not obscuring the text. Apocrypha included as issued. The New Testament title page is printed (1629) within architectural border. The Bible text is followed by a complete Whole Booke of Psalms with printed title page (1629) and woodcut device.

Binding
Brown sheep, rebacked in brown calf. Covers and corners bumped and scuffed. Spine with five raised bands and a red gilt-lined morocco label with the words “The Holy Bible” lettered in gilt. Plain endpapers.
Condition
A2 of the Genealogies with some paper repairs; Map frayed to edges; general title page with repair to upper margin; damp stain to lower portion of text throughout, frequently effecting some text; S1 bound backwards; Kk2 remargined and frayed to edges, repaired to gutter; one quarter torn off from final leaf of Apocrypha with verso blank; good margins throughout.
