General title page (1637) printed with Cambridge device and enclosed within a narrow frame. Text in two column Roman font. Apocrypha included as issued. New Testament title page (1637). Woodcut first chapter initials and head- and tailpieces throughout.

F^8, A-Z^8, Aa-Pp^8, (A)-(I)^8, A-M^8. Complete with title pages.

Binding

Contemporary black paneled calf. Covers with double gilt lines and corner fleurons. Spine with five raised bands and elaborate gilt tooling to compartments. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt.   

Condition

Crisp and clean. Very minimal spotting and staining. A fine copy.

Provenance

Seventeenth century family history records of “Barastre Maynard” from 1665 through the nineteenth century. Armorial bookplate with “Charles Lord Maynard” to verso of title page.
