Composite woodcut title page (1639) elaborately ruled in red with red highlights. Title page featuring Lady Justice and Mercy surrounded by the four Gospel Symbols. Calendar printed in red and black. Single column black letter, ruled in red and with floriated initials throughout. Ends on colophon. With The Psalter or Psalmes of David with similar woodcut border. Ends on colophon and concludes with the Prayers.

a-b^8, c^4, A-Z^8, Aa-Dd^8, Ee^6. Complete.
Binding
Contemporary brown calf. Boards with double gilt paneled border and inner gilt ornaments. Spine with five raised gilt-lined bands. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt.
Condition
Crisp, clean, and bright throughout. Title page trimmed just outside border and laid down.

“Rogery Drake 1693” to front endpaper in neat contemporary hand.

Note
A nice quarto example of the BCP, ruled in red and in attractive single column featuring large type. While the Prayer Book was often bound with Bibles, these are relatively scarce as stand alone printings and the gilt edges and period binding make this an attractive example.
