Engraved general title page (1640) with engraved border featuring the twelve Tribes and the twelve Disciples. Text ruled in red throughout in two column Roman font. Genesis 1 with small woodcut of Adam and Eve in the Garden. Extra illustrated with a total of 162 copperplate engravings depicting narrative scenes and saints, mostly in Genesis, the Gospels, and Revelation. Apocrypha included. Similar New Testament title page (1639). Bound with the Whole Booke of Psalms (1640) with printed title page and border.

A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa-Nnn^8. Bible text complete with both titles.
Binding
Lovely contemporary brown calf. Boards with double gilt paneled border around a central lozenge with corner fleurons. Rebacked with contemporary spine laid down. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers renewed. Rubbed.
Condition
Clean and bright throughout; closed short tear to upper margin of general title; a handful of plates with reduced margins, else flawless.
