General title page (1657) in architectural border and ruled in red. Text in two column Roman font. Without Apocrypha as issued. Printed New Testament title page (1662) with Cambridge Alma Mater. 

Collation 

A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa-Zzz^8, Aaaa-Kkkk^8, Llll^4. Complete with title pages.

Binding 

Contemporary black morocco. Covers triple paneled in gilt with corner fleurons, and two gilt-filled center circles with triprle diagonal lines. Enhanced in blind with tendrils, flowers, and sprays. Spine with five raised bands and elaborate gilt tooling to compartments. Marbled and gilded endpapers. Inner dentelles. All edges gilt. Upper joint starting to loosen.

Condition

Clean and bright throughout. General title page ruled in red, laid down and with lower loss and upper corner loss, but expertly supplied in manuscript.

Armorial bookplate of Storder, M.D., F.R.S. to front pastedown. “M. Turner, Fellow of St. John’s Cambridge, 1734” inscribed to verso of front endpaper.
