Text ruled in red throughout in a two column Roman font. Over 100 engravings with two to a single leaf by John Sturt, primarily in Genesis and the Gospels. Without Apocrypha as issued. Printed New Testament title page (1657) with Cambridge Alma Mater. 

Collation 

A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa-Zzz^8, Aaaa-Kkkk^8, Llll^4. Lacks general title, A3,5 (Gen 1:1-2:20, 4:25-7:6), Qq7-8 (Matt 15:1-18:15), and all after Rev 16:5. 

Binding 

Rebound brown calf with contemporary boards and spine laid down. Spine with four raised bands and the words “Holy Bible” lettered in gilt. Endpapers renewed.

Condition

Cropped, with occasional loss to headlines; some fraying to margins; light toning and spotting; archival repairs with slight loss to first few leaves; Xx1 with small tear to lower outer corner with text loss to margins; Yy7 with small tear to lower outer corner; archival repairs to final leaf of text.
