Begins with The Book of Common Prayer. Printed title page (1760) within printed border. Text in two column Roman font. Issued without Apocrypha. Bound with The Whole Book of Psalms with printed title page (1679).

A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa-Ccc^8, Ddd^2 (Old Testament), Eee-Ttt^8 (-Eee1), Uuu^2 (New Testament). Lacks New Testament title page.

Binding 

Elaborately bound in brown calf. Boards paneled in gilt with corner fleurons around a gilt stamped centerpiece. Spine with four raised bands, extensive tooling to compartments, with a gilt-lined red morocco label with the words “Holy Bible” in gilt. Marbled endpapers. Inner dentelles.

Condition

BCP lacks title page; light foxing and staining at front and rear of volume; pages clean and bright; lacks New Testament title page. A very nicely rebound King James Bible.

Provenance

Bound with four vellum leaves between the Testaments detailing the family history of Hannah Hartley (1738-1796) through Thomas Hartley (died 1877).
