Title page to volume 1 (1795). Frontispiece of Adam and Eve in the Garden. Text in two column Roman font. Bound with sixty engraved plates including titles to each of the books in the Bible. Without Apocrypha, as issued. Additional title page to volume 2. Misprint in Mark 7:27 which reads: “let the children first be killed” instead of “filled”.

Binding
Original blue morocco gilt-tooled binding. Covers paneled in gilt. Spine with recessed bands and gilt tooling to compartments. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Rubbed and scuffed.
Condition
Infrequent foxing, primarily near the engraved plates. Clean and bright throughout.
