The complete Book of Common Prayer with printed title page (1665), the whole ruled in red and bound with engravings of saints and Gunpowder Plot. Engraved general title page (1669) with architectural border. Text in two column Roman font. Apocrypha included. Printed New Testament title page with Royal Arms (1669). The New Testament bound with over 100 engravings depicting narrative scenes. Bound with the Whole Booke of Psalms (1669) with printed title page and border.

Binding

Contemporary brown calf with metalwork. Covers with gilt paneled border and corner fleurons around a metal centerpiece. Two working metal clasps. Six of eight metal corner pieces present. Spine with six raised bands and elaborate gilt tooling to compartments. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Rubbed with joints worn and starting. Spine with two black tape remnants to foot and head.

Condition

Q1 with lower corner marginal loss; a few plates with closed marginal tears. Text is clean and bright with good margins.
