Printed general title page (1726) with double printed border. Text printed in double column Roman font. Without Apocrypha as issued. New Testament title page (1726). Bound with a Psalter after the Bible text. Decorative headpieces and woodcut initials.

Collation

A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa-Ppp^8. Complete with both title pages.

Binding

Bound in original gilt paneled red morocco. Covers with elaborate herringbone design using rolls and drawer handle tools featuring flowers, stars, circles, and leafy sprays. Spine with five raised bands and gilt tooling to compartments. One metal clasp with the initials “J G”. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers.

Condition

A1,2 trimmed with loss to a line of text; A7 loss to fore-edge margin; minimal spotting and soiling, but a clean and bright text. Rubbed with a couple of small losses to spine.
